CAMBRIDGE TRAIN SERVICE.
IMPROVEMENTS REQUIRED.
REQUEST TO MINISTER.
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent)
CAMBRIDGE, Thursday. The local branch of the Farmers' Union and the Chamber of Commerce at Cambridge are working conjointly in an endeavour to remedy delays in, and the inadequacy of the railway service to Cambridge. The Farmers' Union were the first to move in the matter. They waited on the Chamber with a request for its assistance in securing an improved service, the deputation pointing out that under the present conditions mails were not delivered until 24 hours after the train arrived. Aβ the Chamber had already unsuccessfully petitioaed for another goods train, it was decided to send a joint request to the Minister for Railways from the two bodies.
