INADEQUATE ACCOMMODATION , . What indignant memriere declared was a disgraceful state of affairs in respect to t!ie travelling conditions on the Main Trunk express was ventilated at a special meeting of the provincial executive of the Farmers' Union thin morning. Mr. .lames Hoddip, provincial president of tin' union, introduced the matter. Tie =i ill he had travelled so frequently mi tie express, and had seen first hand tlie ,iir_'raccful conditions under which many nf the travelling public were conveyer! that it was quite time the public should I" , heard. lie instanced several cases, of men anil women lying , along the corridors of the carriages, with the guards pickinjr their way as best they ermld nv>r them, while others hnd to spend half their tinae on the platforms. Hn ir.-ivi'il the following resolution: — "That the executive of the Farmers' Union protpst most strongly against the continued inadequate accommodation of the Main Trunk express, and would that the disgraceful nvercrowdinfl. which has pxisted for months p:i~t lie at once provided for by the reinstatement of t:ie second express, of pre-war days, or pome other satisfactory method, wherehy tlie reasonable requirements of the travelling public will Vie provided for. Mr. A. A. Tvoss seconded, and very stronjlv deprecated the conditions, of which he had personal knowledge. The lotion was carried unanimously.
