HARBOUR BOARD VACANCY.
MR. T. B. CI AY NOMINATED. At the request of a deputation that waited upon him last week, tiie Mayor of Mount Albert. Mr. T. B. Clay, has consented to stand for the vacancy on the Auckland Harbour Board caused by the death of the late Mr. \V. E. Hutchison. The electors concerned are tliocjc in the districts of Mount Eden, Mount .Roskill, Mount Albert, Avondalo, and Point Chevalier. Mr. Clay's nomination papers were signed yesterday. Mr. Clay's nominators were: — Messrs. .7. H. (iunson, Mayor of Auckland; C. Hudson, -Mayor of Mount Eden: Oliver Nicholson, ex-Mayor of Mount Eden; George rAVinstone, J. Peet, W. B. Leyland, and ■ H-D. Heather, chairman of the Harbour Board. The election is to be held in April.
