THE HARBOUR ANGLER.
(To the Edltor.i Sir, —While the Harbour Board is in patriotic and generous mind, vide the proposed etatue at the old dock site, may I plead for thousands of returned men who would certainly like a little space on the waterfront for a (juiet hour or two fishing. It would do any generous-hearted member good I*> go and see the space just west of Hobson Street wharf, where I might say hundreds of citizens are allowed to try their hand at landing a fish or so. It is not possible for more than, say, six to be there at one time. A city of Auckland's size, with ench an enormous water front might well afford, say, Hobson Street wharf to be used when no shipping is there, which ie at least two days per week. If any doubt exists as to the truth of these remarks, go any day to the trawlers' landing and see the soldiers unable even to throw a line out ibeeause the space is so limited.—l am, etc., FISHERMAN.
