TAKAPUNA TRAMWAYS.
fTo the Editor.) Sir, —I am glad to see "Basidonfs" letter with reference to the above eerviee, and wish to add that the overcrowding of the cars turns what ehould be a pleasant trip into an undignified and degrading experience. The scramble for seats makes for the survival of the fittest, which means that those unfit to battle have to stand. In a letter from an Auckland business man it is mentioned "that Takapuna is an unpopular place for a business man to reside, owing to the rotten state of the tram service and the hourly steamer service." It would seem desirable in the interests of this beautiful suburb that the matter be actively taken up with a view to some radical improvements.—l am, etc., ANOTHER RESIDENT.
