VETERANS' HOME CONTROL.
At a meeting of the executive of the Auckland Patriotic Association yesterday afternoon the treasurer I Mr. A. 8. j Bankart) presented a report in reference to the proposal that thn control of the : Veterans' Home should be taken over by ! the Association. He reported that as the result of a conference between the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the heme i the Hon. E. I Mitehelson) and himself, it had been ■ decided that the control should remain as at present until the Prime Minister and Sir Joseph Ward returned Ito New Zeal•-•.Tid. The trustees would i then meet and consider .1 scheme to be 1 submitted by Mr. Mitehelson, under which, if approved by the Supreme Court. the trust and property could be transferred to the Association. Any such scheme would provide for a pledge by the Government to make an annual grant of £500. The report \va< approved, the president explaining that whatever scheme were adopted the first consideration would be the interests of the members of the Veterans' Association.
