RANGITIKEI SHOW.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) TAIHAPE, Thursday. The Rangittkel Agricultural and Pastoral Association held their eighth annual show at Taihape yesterday. The day was in every respect a record one, both as regards the extremely fine weather and the takings at the show, upwards of £100 being taken at the gates, besides £37 at the refreshment tent. The Taihape band was in attendance and did excellent service. Perhaps the best business was done with tho side showman and cheap jacks, who were present in great numbers. The entries were quite up to former years, those for sheep and cattle being very large. In Shorthorn cattle Dalzlell Bros., of Hunterville, won first and champion for bull calved before July, 1917, and flrst and champion for cow calred before July 1. In 'Herefords G. A. Wheeler, of Toroa, secured first and champion for bull and cow calved before July, 1917_. In Frlesians T. W. Williams won the Island chainnlonshlp for best bull calved since July, Tiiie. and cow calved since July, 1917. In Milking Shorthorns .1. T. Taylor secured first and champion for both bull and heifer calved after July, 1017. In horses, first and champion for draught ally or gelding foaled since August 1, 1915, was , won by H. D. Bennett, of Taihape. The principal prizewinners for fat sheep and fat lambe were W. Recce and Sons, of Feildinjj, D. Scott of Taihape, J. Bartosh of Ruakura, and H. D. Bennett, of Taihape. In Romncys the principal prizetakers were A. R. Fnnnin, of Taihape, G. A. Wheeler of Taoroa. .T. G. Collins of Taoroa, - . Battley R. G. Sharpe. The prizewinners in Llncolns were R. G. Sharpe ot Fordell, G. L Marshall of Marton, and in Southdowns W. Reid and R. G. Sharpe divided the hononrs. In pigs J. T. Taylor of Plrlaka scored all prizes for Tamworths and Yorkshires, .T. M. C. McKenzie, W. Anderson and J. T. Taylor being the prizewinners in Berkshlres.
