EMBARGO ON POTATOES.

REPLY TO FARMERS' UNION PROTESTS. BOARD OF TRADE TO INVESTIGATE. Mr. James Boddie, proviqcial president of the Farmers' Union, has received a telegram from the chairman of the Board of Trade respecting a telegram which was sent by the Provincial Executive of the Farmers' Union to the Acting-Prime Minister, Sir James Allen, protesting against the embargo on the exportation of potatoes. In his telegram the chairman of the Board of Trade intimates that members of the board will visit Auckland early next week to review the position.
