MCAYOK'S •RK'"-"-' COMMUTE!:. STBONGL.Y "WORDED TELEGRAM. A meeting of the Mayor's Committee for relieving sufferers from thp recent epidemic -was held this morning, at which Mr. A. J. Entrican presided. Last week persons desiring to take advantage of the aid promised by the Government, iwere asked to apply to Mr. T. L- Thompson, secretary to the committee. At the meeting held this morning it was decided to send the following telegram: — "To the Hon. J. A. Hanan, Wellington. —Mayor's Relief Committee met today, and determined to cloee down giving relief at the end of next week. Have over 100 applications for allowances promised by Cabinet. Xo forms to hand. 'No communication from Wellington, as promised by your telegTam from Dunedin. To whom e&ail we apply here? What Board or officer -wiU_ approve claims? Matter urgent. Kindly faeiliI ta.te. Very grave complaint as to tw--1 necessary delay.— A. J. Entrican. chair- . man." -f
