The Hon. W. A. and Mrs. Miller, of Fiji, axe at Cargcn.

Major and Mrs. Dean Pitt, of Gisborne, are at Oargcn.

Mr. Wy-vern Wilson, 5vM., arrived from Wanganui, and is staying at the Central Hotel.

Captain R. C. Smith, adjutant at Papawai Camp, has been appointed officer in charge of details at Feathexston.

Dr. X. H. Prior, of Masterton, who has been on active service over three years, is expected in New Zealand shortly.

Captain J. Morrison, formerly in the employ of the Union S.S. Co., is in command of the American aailer Henrietta, now on the way to Wellington.

Mr. Arthur Thomas Bell has been transferred from the Magistrate's Court. Wellington, to the Supreme Court at Chris tehurch.

Mr. Henry Williams is voluntarily resigning after 43 years in the service of the National Insurance Co. For a quarter of a century Mr. Williams occupied the chair of the general manager.

Dr. Pomare, member of the Executive for the native race, arrived by the express from Wellington, accompanied by his private secretary, Mr. Saxon Poster. He is staving at the Grand Hotel.

Captain K. J. Thomas, house manager at the Auckland Hospital, is again seriously ill. He was unwell when the epidemic broke out, having got a touch of influenza. He, however, got up to supervise the equipping of temporary hospitals, but suffered a collapse last Thursday. Captain Thomas is now in a ward at the hospital.
