The Naval Adviser states it is reported that an enemy mine has been washed ashore on the West Coast of the North Inland, about fifteen miles south-east of (ape .Maria van Diemen. The necessary steps have been taken it make it secure. Our Tc Pjiki correspondent telegraphs that on Friday afternoon Mr, Wagcner, of I'ukeniii, on his way up the West Coast beach discovered a mine. H bad just been washed ashore between Matafia and Te I'aki. The news was forwarded to the Naval Adviser at Wellington. He replied requesting , that, if possible, the mine be made secure to prevent it being carried away. In company with others Mr. Wagener left Te Paki this morning to see what could be done towards making it secure.
