PLEAS OF RESERVISTS.
BOARD'S DECISIONS. The First Auckland Military Service Board sat to-day. The appeal of Percival J. Choat, Grey Lynn, was adjourned for two months for domestic reasons. The Auckland Provincial Fruitgrowers' Association (Mr. Haddow) appealed, on the ground of public interest, for Win. Bodley, manager, who was indispensable and essential to the carrying on of an extensive business. Henry Paltridge, acting-chairman of directors, gave evidence, and the appeal was adjourned for report. MARINE AVOCATIONS. The secretary of the Seamen's Union supported tbe appeal of Kraser Ferguson, Northcote, who was a seaman, but said he had been ashore since November owing to his wife's ill-health. He had every intention of returning to sea. His wife's parents resided in Northcote. Appellant said he had been at sea for six years, and he was a member of the Waterside Workers' Union also. The Board gave exemption until October 10. The appeal of Thos. F. Anderson was adjourned pending medical examination. The appeal respecting Roy W. Aitchison, of llunua, was renewed by bis father, who said he suffered from a permanently impaired arm, and required his son to do the heavy agricultural work on the place. The Board gavef exemption until February f>.
