LIMITING REMITTANCES.
i REGULATIONS GAZETTED. The latest issue of the "Gazette" contains regulations restricting the remittance of money from the Dominion for the purpose of investment abroad. The Acting-Finance Minister, the Hon. Arthur JL Myers, states that the Imperial Government had found it necessary to issue regulations under the | Defence of the Realm Act, making it I ilk-gal for any person resident in the I United Kingdom, without the permission of the Treasury, to send any remittance [out of the United Kingdom for the pur- , pose of subscribing to any loan issued ! outside the United Kingdom, or for the 1 purchase of stock or other securities other than merchandise, if the securities !Iwere not in the United Kingdom. The (Government of New Zealand has considered there regulations with a view of I applying the same principle to persons j residing within this Dominion, and, accordingly, a set of regulations had been drafted by the law officers of the frown on the same lines as those promulgated in England.
