PACKING PARCELS.
The members of the Auckland Women's Patriotic League arc- ongaged at the Town Hall to-day in packing gift parcels under tho Dominion Gift Scheme. Some 7500 parcels have to bo packed, and tho hall is a sceno of buetlo and activity, and many willing hands are engaged. A noticeable feature of the work is the fact that there is no confusion. There are many workers, but they are organised workers, an«l each volunteer has her own particular duty. A now feature has been inaugurated to-day, in that the members of the public have 'been invited to attend and to wateli the work. Moreover, anyone desirous of packing a parcel may do so on the payment of half-a-crown, the paymont of which includes the privilege of enclosing the packer's name with tho parcel. Since the outbreak of wnr tho Iveague has been untiring in its efforts on behalf of the men at the front, and that effort is to be continued as long ac the need exists, so that the men in the firing line may know that they are not forgotten.
