A CHILD POISONED.

QNEHUNGA FATALITY; An infant boy, named Frederick Jupp> aged 19 months, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jupp, of Arthur Street West, Onehunga, died at the Auckland Hospital last night from the effects of poison. Yesterday afternoon the child's mother took down a packet of poisonous crystals from off a shelf which she was cleaning, and while her back was turned the child reached out and swallowed some of the contents. A doctor was summoned, but the child got worse, and was sent to the hospital, where he died at a late hour last night. An inquest is being held.
