FIRST ON WAY TO FRONT. (Received 12.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, February 21. Mr N. D. Baker (Secretary for War) announces that the first American aeroplanes equipped with Liberty motors art now en route to tlie western front. Th< engine production is very satisfactory.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) The Liberty motor was designed by * conference of American engineers, wh< worked continuously for five days anc nights in order to complete aj motoi which possessed the best features of th< standard types. The result was a motoi of remarkable power and simplicity which it is estimated is faster and mor< serviceable than any other aeroplani engine.
