Purdie (Wellington), Mrs. L. Rout and Miss V. Habicht (Edinburgh), and Mr. F. Dawson-Walker (London) are staying at "Cargen." The Very Rev. Father Paul Aubry, S.M., lias been appointed the successor of tho late Very Rev. Dean Carew in tho pastorate of Greymouth. For the laet nine yeare Father Aubry has had charge of the parish of Waimate, in South Canterbury. Mr. Alexander Bell, M.A., who has been appointed to tho vacant position of secretary of the Education Department, comes from South Canterbury. Hβ has been a teacher, an inspector, and secretary for the Southland Education Board and the Board of Governors of the Southland High Schools. For the last three years he was in the head office of the Department.
