The extremely hot weather of the enrller part of the week has licrn succeeded by light southerly rain, which will cause a further delay in harvesting operations. Most of the crops on Ihe plains have, however, been secured, but a number of farmers have been waiting to thresh out of stool;. Although very little wheat is being offered in the city, sales arc being inife falrly freely in the country. Deliveries are being made at the local mills, ami tho first shipment is being made to Auckland. A good deal of the wheat coming forward is off colour, but some of the lines are in excellent condition. Oats are in demand, but vr>r.v few am obtainable at present. The same may be saiil of oatsheaf chaff, the

price of which is now £4 to £4 5/ at country stations, for Immediate delivery. There is" no business doing in potatoes. Owing to the unfavourable weather on the Banks Peninsula for threshing cocksfoot, there is very little of, this seed yet offering from there.
