AQUATICS.
PONSONBY-NORMAL SCHOOL GALA. Judging by the rate at which the entries are coming in, the above gala, which is to be held at the Tepid Baths on Wednesday next, promises to excel all previous efforts of the Ponsonby-Normal Clubs. Immense interest attaches to the lOOyds Ladies' Championship of Auckland, in which Miss Dorothy Farquhar, who is In splendid form at present, will make a determined effort to lower her New Zealand record of SO 2-ss. Entries close to-day, with any of the Auckland batbkeepers, or with the secretaries, B. W. Hayson, Bayfleld School, G. E. Champion, Phoenix Chambers. PONSONBY SCHOOLS' SWIMMING SPORTS. The annual combined swimming sports of the three Ponsonby schools are to be held in the Shelly Beach Baths on Friday afternoon nest week. As usual, the Ponsonby school children are showing their appreciation of the opportunity of indulging in their favourite pastime by entering for the different events In large nmnbers. An invitation race of 50 yards, open to boys attending any of the Auckland primary schools, has been added to the programme. Entries for this event should be forwarded to the sports secretary, Mr. B. W. Hayson, Bayfield School, by noon on Monday next.
