A HUNDRED PERISH.

MONTREAL, February 15
It is feared that 100 perished in a fire at a nunnery. Thirty-eight charred bodies of children have been recovered. The firemen rescued 200 wounded soldiers who were accommodated in the building. (A. and N.Z. Cable.)

1 SOLDIERS' GALLANT RESCUE WORK. (Received 1 p.m.) MONTREAL, February 15. The Grey nunnery death roll does not exceed 70. The fire originated from a. spark thrown out by an X-ray machine. Returned soldiers rescued numbers of children, carrying them out two at a time. A sergeant of the Thirteenth Highlanders entered the building five times, and rescued ten infants.— (A. and X.Z-X
