ST. JOHN AMBULANCE WORK
The matron of the Aotea Convalescent Home, Heliopolifl, Cairo, has written to tho Wellington branch of the St. John Ambulance Association, thanking them for gifts. The writer says:—"Transport Jβ so difficult that it is now several months since we had anything in the way of gift casee from New Zealand. I am returning leaflets ao that you see what has come to hand so far. If at any time in the future you may be sending cases 1 may tell you our most urgent needs are thin shirts—ki.jki colour for preference—sheets, tea towels, socks, bath towels, pypamas, etc., as we have very few actual bed patients. Hospital needs, such as bed socks, dressing gowne, are not much uae to us—when they are sent to us we send them on to 27th General Hospital, Cairo, where all our New Zealand sick and wounded are sent first. They always make use of real hospital comforts. Anything in the way of dried and tinned fruite, tinned merits, milk pastes,\etc, are always very welcome. Soup packets, barley, groats, etc., we have a good stock of in hand."
