SUBMARINE OUTRAGES.
GERMAN PRESS CAMPAIGN. THREAT AGAINST HOSPITAL SHIPS. AMSTERDAM, January 14. Though some German papers suggest that the hospital ship Rewa, sunk in the Bristol Channel, struck a mine, others have commenced a fresh campaign against hospital ships, including a revival of ! accusations of the misuse of the Red Cross. The '-Cologne Yolks Zeitting" alleges that Spanish officers had left the ships I because, it was discovered they were carrying trodps, supposed to be suffering, from fever, who were really quite healthy, j This was not the first time a simi'ur I misuse had occurred, it alleged. The greater part of the Dardanelles withdrawal was effected by means of hospital ships, carrying a few wounded and many I tin wounded* soldiers. Otherwise the i greater part of the Dardanelles troops would have lieen destroyed. The' neiwspaper concludes by a threat to destroy further hospital ships.
The British Admiralty states definitely that it lias been ascertained there were no mines in the vicinity of the Rewa.—' (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
