CHAMPIONSHIP SWIMMING. AKABANA CLUB'S GALA. The Akarana Swimming Club's ' third gala, originally announced for Monday, January 28, at the Tepid Bath, has been j postponed until the evening of Wednesday, 1 January 30, owing to the holiday having been brought forward. The programme will comprise 17 swimming, diving, lifei saving, water polo, and novelty events, as I follows: —soyds Novice Handicap, 50yds Members' Handicap, 75yds Auckland Provincial Championship. 50yds Open HandiI cap, 33 l-3yds Ladles' BreaststroUe Handii cap, 33 l-3yds Ladies' Novice Handicap, 50yds Sports' Handicap, 50yds Ladies' Handicap, Ribbon Dive. Neat Header, Ladies Neat Header, Polo (Akarana v. Albions), Polo (Ladies' Championship), 220 yds Open Handicap, 50yds Schoolboys, Handicap, 50yds Schoolgirls' Handicap, Ladies' Llfe- , saving Competition, time test. Prizes will Ibe presented on the evening of the sports. Nominations close next Friday with Mr. W. Morton, Jun., 7, Durham Street West.
