TRENTHAM ESCAPEES.
ONE OF THE FOUR RE-TAKEN. HOW THE MEN GOT AWAY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Minister of Defence states th«t one of the four Trentham escapees (not one of the Larkins) has been recaptured. It appears that it was not true, as was stated at the time, that the sentry was knocked on the head and gagged. It is understood that one of the prisoners asked tne sentry to allow him to go outside. To this the sentry consented, and the man, opening the door suddenly, caught the sentry a bea-vy blow on the forehead, knocking him down and rendering him senseless. The opportunity thus afforded was too good to be missed, and the men decamped. The sergeant of the guard will be eourtmartialled for not carrying out the camp standing orders by keeping the door ct the but locked..
