METHODIST CIRCUIT.
The quarterly meeting at Auckland West Circuit was held on Wednesday evening at St.. John's Schoolroom, Ponsonby. The Rev. 2^"r^ Bell yr Ouse ' by the circuit Wnw ards > Messrs. T. W. Veale and H. J. ■Jtioiasworth, presided. The membership i" arl ! c remained unaltered, namely, senior, 4j*j; junior, 170. During the quarter the circuit income amounted to £145 15/0, which included credit balance from debt extinction fund, transferred. The outgoing expenses were £146. 4/6, leaving n debit triuanco of S/0 on the quarter's operations. The stewards reported β-iving negotiated a satisfactory leaae of Arch hill property, and were thanked for their services in connection therewith. Owing to the holiday season, the Sunday-school returns were Incomplete, but satisfactory reports «f progress were received, particularly at Richmond Avenue, where two additional classrooms were being built. Mr. Mudgeway, superintendent of Bnyfleld School, had resigned from office, and wae heartily thanked for services. Officers for the new year were elected as follows:—Circuit stewards. 'Messrs. W. .1. Holdsworth and K. H. Horsley; conference ■representatives, Messrs. Thompson and Frazer; substitutes. CMlss Thompson and Mr. Beere. The retiring circuit steward, Mr. T. W. Veale, wne heartily thanked for his indefatigable services during his term of office. Special reference wjis made to tnc approaching departure of the iUev. W. A. Burley. M.A., and to the excellent work done by him during his five years in the circuit.
NORTH SHORE. The quarterly meeting of the North Shore Methodist Church -was held at Takiiiuuia on Thursday evening. The Key. \V. J. Elliott presided over a good attendance. Tho membership of the church nnd work of various societies were reviewed, und a resolution of sympathy -with the relatives of the late Mr. P. Ellis passed. The Income 'lid not qiiito meet tho .expenditure, but home and foreign missions had been well supported. Tho officers elected for the ensuing year were:—Circuit stewards, Messrs. G. A. R. Thomas and Roy. H. Dellow; Conference representative, Mr. W. 3. Stone, substitute' Mr. G. A. K. Thomas. The retiring circuit steward. Mr. F. Ileldt. was thanked for his services, us were also tho Takapuna ladies for hospitality.
