GERMAN DYE SECRETS.

SECURED AFTER GREAT HAZARDS. LONDON, January 10. The "Daily Mail" states that after two years of. persistent effort a group of British textile workers, aided by Messrs. John Leyland and Richard Baldry, with the assistance of the Foreign Office, have obtained from Switzerland 257 secret recipes from the Dadiseh dyeworks, comprising the German dye monopoly. They spent thousands of pounds, taking great riskfc during long-drawn negotiations with a Swiss chemist possessing the recipes. A German agent everywhere doggud their footsteps, stealing their lugpage, drugging and assaulting them, and making laboratory tests dangerous. When the recipes and samples were obtained the Foreign Office forwarded tteni to England with the utmost secrecy and lodged them in the strongroom of a bank. They arc now manufacturing the dyes at Bradford and Manchester. The dyes answer all tests. They are producing the whole range of. dyes hitherto exclusively German.— (United Service.)
