WELLINGTON MILK SUPPLY.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I read with interest the decision of the milk vendors to take all their milk through' a central depot, and, further, not to deliver before 1 p.m. on week-days and not at all on Sundays and holidays. I consider the handling of milk through the. central depot will only increase the price to the consumer and give no advantage, the.less handling between producer and consumer the better. The idea of no Sunday delivery seems out of the question; milk delivered on Saturday would be Friday'evening's and Saturday morning's .milk, and on Monday the milk would consist of Saturday evening's, Sunday morning and evenings', and Monday morning's milk, some of which I am sure "would not he fit for human consumption. As for the public collecting their own milk on Sunday, thie seeme ridiculous; in fact, out of the question. It seems to mc wiat the public and the children (whose chief diet is fresh milk) w.ill have to go, without. SuTely the public oi Wellington will wake up and check thi s imposition on the part of the milk vendors. —I am, etc. J. W. HENLEY.
