. Vi d LA _CE-CORPORAL C. J- WHITE. Mr. Joseph T. White, of Stanley Bay, has received an intimation from the Hon. c the Minisjter of Defence that his ' son, Lance-Corporal C. J. White, has c 'been awarded the Military Medal for «j gallantry displayed upon the field of _ action. Lance-Corporal C. J. White |"" enlisted in August, IQIS, leaving for the j front with the Eighth Reinforcements, j He has spent the greater part of his j time in the trenches, taking part in seve- A ral battles. He had the misfortune to , sustain 'shell shock on October 4, but is now reported well. In civil life he was j ] an accountant, gaining his certificate as i. associate (studying under Mr. Hem ing-; t way), and was employed at time of en- ( listing in the London and Liverpool and ] Globe Insurance Company. His bro-; l titer. Lance-Corporal H. S. White, is also' ] at the front, attached to Headquarters i as dispatch rider,' having left in the Sixth Reinforcements.
