RUSSIANS AND GERMANS SIGN ARMISTICE.

TO CONTINUE AUTOMATICALLY UNTIL EITHER SIDE GIVES NOTICE. LONDON, December 17. A German communique states:—An armistice with Ruaeia was signed at Brest Litovsk yesterday. It commences on December 17 and ends on January 14. Unless a week's notice of termination is given, the armistice will continue automatically. It extends to all land, air, and naval forces of the common fronts. Peace negotiations will commence immediately. A Russian message states that Ensign Krylenko," Bolshevik commander-fa-chief, has issued a proclamation that an armistice treaty has been signed. He proposes to cease aU military operations until the full text is received — .(A. and N.Z. Cable.) Bolshevik troops at Odessa attacked the Ukrainian Parliament. Ukrainian troops drove off the Bolsheviks. The majority of the Bailors of the Black Sea fleet have joined the Ukrainian forces. —(Admiralty, per Wireless.) The violent death of General Skalon, an army representative of the peace negotiations, has aroused a sensation. Leninist members of the conference state that Skalon committed suicide, but the general belief is that he was murdered, as he refused to be identified with a disgraceful peace—fA and N_. Cable.)
