THE AUCKLAND CUP. An acceptance of 17 for the Auckland Cup Is decidedly satisfactory, but the defection of Vagabond and Uncle Ned will be n big blow to early backers. The three-yeur-old especially was well fancied, nnd had he gone to the post would have been one of the favourite division. It transpires that the message accepting with Vagabond did not reach the Auckland Racing Club's ollico until half an hour after the closing of the acceptances, »o that it is hard luck for all concerned.
