JERUSALEM LIBERATED, NOI CAPTURED.
BRITISH HIGH COMMAND INTERS THE CITY ON FOOT. .(Received 9.5 a.m.); LONDON, December 12. It is understood that General Sir Edmund Allenby and his staff entered ! Jerusalem afoot, emphasising the fact that the city -was liberated, not captured. There were special celebrations in various places of worship, including , the "Te Deum" at St. Paul's to mark the capture of Jerusalem. Berne advices report that the Sultan of Turkey is seriously ill, suffering a breakdown following the British victories in Palestine and Mesopotamia. There was a great. Jewish demonstration in Odessa when Britain's plans regarding Jews in Palestine were made known. Fifteen thousand Jews participated in a procession two miles long which marched past the British Consulate and asked the Consul to convey their gratitude to Britain. \
