(Sy Telegraph.—Pr=ss Association.) WELLINGTON", this day. Kdward Shaw, a returned soldier, was before the Supreme Court this morning for sentence on a charge of fraudulent sale of chattels. He was lessee of Crown lands wiien the transaction was made. Counsel said that it was quite possible that Shaw thoupht he was acting honestly. The Chief Justice said it was quite clear that the man had no business sense whatever. He adjourned the case for eighteen months in order to see how accused gets on in the meantime.
