SENTENCED FOR PERJURY.

FIXE OF £200 INFLICTED. Sentence was passed by Mr. Justice Stringer at the Supreme Court this morning on William Gordon, who had been convicted of perjury. The offence was committed in the course of a civil action in the Magistrate's Court, in which Gordon was sued by Mary Ellen ICeogh for a sum of £25. His Honor considered that the ends of justice would be met by a fine of £200, the prisoner to remain in prison until payment of the sum, such imprisonment not in any case to exceed six months.
