WATERSIDE ACCIDENTS.
MORE SUPERVISION DESIRED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A deputation from the Waterside Workers' Federation wailed on the Minister for Marine (the Hon. G. W. Russell) to-day, and urged that more extensive powers be granted to inspectors with a view to preventing iiceidents. It wae pointed out that 24(5 accidents occurred in Wellington last year among 1500 members of the Federation. Many accidents were unavoidable, but irnore supervision was wanted.
The Minister replied that if the Waterside Unions supplied him with lists of accidents he would have them checked so as to trace who was responsible for them.
