WATER POWER.

a A WELLINGTON DEPUTATION. (By Telegraph.—-Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Thursday. A large deputation representing the towns and local bodies in the Wellington Province waited upon Mr. Massey, Sil Joseph Ward, and the Hon. W. Fraser this afternoon, and urged the vigorous prosecution of the hydro-electric scheme. The delegates referred to the success of the Lake Coleridge scheme, and pointed out that much water-power was going tc waste. The 'Ministers were sympathetic with the deputation, but stated that war considerations were bound to be dealt with before anything else. Mr. Fraser emphasised also the great shortage of labour. Because of this fact he had not been able to spend half the amount allocated him last year.
