THE BUTTER OUTPUT.
OFFER TO GOVERNMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Thursday. A conference of delegates representing 24 butter factories to-day decided tc hold a conference in Wellington on August 22. and afterwards to interview the Prime Minister on the matter of the purchase of the butter output by the New Zealand or Imperial Governments. A committee was authorised to offer to sell the output at a price on a parity with that for cheese, allowing threepence per pound on butter-fat as the difference between skim milk and whey. The committee was given a freehand to make the best 'arrangement in the interests of producers.
