THE ABANDONED STEAMER.

BURKING FORE AND AFT, (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUXEDIX, this day. One of the Union Company's fleet is deviating from her course to visit the vicinity of the abandonment of the Waitotara and to investigate the extent of the damage done to the vessel. Latest advices report that the vessel was burning briskly fore and aft. The crew are now in Xoumea, and are being well cared for. Arrangements are being made for their return to Mew Zealand.
