' • 1 WAITEMATA CLUB. The twelfth annual meeting of the Waitemata Bowling and Croquet Club was held in the pavilion on Thursday evening The president (Mr J. L. Leonard) presided over a good attendance of members. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The financial statement shows the polltlon of tbe club favourably, despite the heavy cost caused by floods and tile erectlou of an embankment round rbe premises to prevent a repetition. The winners of the club competitions were as follows:— Firstyear players, Mr T. 'H. Hurley: handicap pairs, Messrs S. Smdth and W. 'H. Glover. The champion singles was not completed. Xhe election of officers for Lie ensuing season resulted as follows.—President. Mr R. A. Meek; vice-presidents. Messrs .1, L. Leonard. D. .Elston, A. Campbell: hon. secretary, Mr H. Burrows; hou. treasurer, Mr '. R. .Salt; green superintendent, Mr W. Luke; bon. auditor, Mr D. Elston; committee, Messrs W. P. O'Leary. \V. H. Glover, G. Hewaon, J. R. McPhail, W. Monlden. S. Smith. F. Bolton: reporter, Mr .1. R. Salt; Match Committee, MessTg .1. ABen. •W. ,Lu!te, W. H. Glover; centre delegates. Messrs IV. and W. H. Glover. The surrender of debentures by several mem■bers considerably reduced the club's liabilities. Mr R. 'Colebrook w«« elected a life membeT, and a special vote of thanks was accorded to Mr W. H. Glover on his retirement from the position of secretary, wirier, he has held for several years. A number of trophies were- donated for next seaeon'6 competitions.
