THE THIRTY-THIRD DRAFT
CLOSES TO-MORROW. A BIG SHORTAGE. Voluntary enlistments for tlie Tliirtvtbird draft close to-morrow. Although the response during the last few weeks has been fairly good, the majority of volunteers have enlisted for the Thirty fourth draft, which mobilises in September, and in consequence the present draft is heavily short. There was a record number of recruits waiting to be examined at the City Recruiting Station yesterday, but tho number who enlisted for the present draft is not yet available. It was stated to-day that there arc about 120 men in hand for this draft, -while the results of the City Recruiting Station may yet contain a number of men for the Thirty-third draft, so that approximately a little over 2.0(10 names will be drawn from the Auckland City group. A ballot will in all probability be drawn on Tuesday or Wednesday next.
