GUI. presided over an attendance of 34 members. After the balance-sheet ami annual report had been duly received and adopted, the president congratulated the members on the very successful season. Ponsonby. last evening There was a large attendance, and several outside clubs were represented. Private F. Bridges, a vice-president of the club, who is leaving -with the Twenty-eighth Reinforcements, was given a cordial send-off. and was presented with a silver encased shaving outllt. suitably inscribed. Mrs. Bridges was also the recipient of a stiver photo frame. Trophies won during the past season were distributed as follow:—Club fours. Messrs. Somcrs. Philp. Shergold, Palmer: pairs. W. Allan and J. Doull; handicap singles. \V. H. Brownett and H. White isecond): first-year players, Shergold, F. McCrystal (second). A gold medal was received by Mr. 11. Ross, winner of the handicap singles, held over from last year. A euchre tournament was held, and prizes were won by Mrs. Leonard and Mr. S. Drnrfin. A capital programme ot vocal and instrumental Items was given, followed by an enjoyable dance. The ladies provided an excellent supper, the tables being tastefully decorated with the club's colours.

ROCKY NOOK CLUB. The sixteenth annual meeting of the Rocky Nook Bowling Club was held iv the club pavilion on Wednesday evening. The President (Mr C. H. Page) was iv the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. These showed that the club had ended another successful season, and commented on the energy displayed by the president and various committees. Reference was made to the loss sustained by the death of Mr T. Hodgson, who was one of the founders of the club. A vote of sympathy was also passed In connection with the loss of Mr Win.
