UNION COMPANY APPEALS.
(By Telesraph. — Press Asportation.> WELL! NUTON. Thursday. Before the Military Service Board today W. A. Kennedy, manager of the Union Steamship Company, appealed on behalf of _!ii officers ami engineers en-Ka-jred on various vessels of the company's fleet. Captain Walker suggested that the same principle as that laid down by the Board in respect to firemen and seamen, namely, that the employer must prove at least twelve months' sea service prior to the passing of the Military Service Act. should apply to marine engineers. He asked if Air. Kennedy could urge a good reason against the suuftestion. Mr. Kennedy: --No." "We thought the suggestion a very j:ood one. After Mr. Kennedy bad explained the seafaring experience of the men on whose behalf exemption was asked for. the Board dismissed four appeals, and adjourned 22 s; ne aic on the usual conditions.
