CLEARING THE REMNANTS FROM EAST AFRICA
LONDON, June 2L The following report on operations in East Africa has been received?— Commencing on June 10 we attacked at Lindi, a coastal town near the southern boundary of the colony, with tho object of clearing the enemy from the shores of the estuary of the River Lukuledi. Warships rendered assistance. We made a surprise landing near Kiswere, 100 miles south of the Rufiji, and drove tha Germans, who had mounted a naval gun, toward \itama. 23 miles to the southVest. Our patrols destroyed a food depot at Utigeri, 29 miles south-west of Kilwa, 50 miles south of the Rufiji River.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
