The "Gazette" gives the following revenue and expenditure figures on the railway working account for the fourweekly period ended January 6, with comparative figures for the corresponding period of Inst year, shillings and pence being omitted:— REVENUE. 1017. 1016. £ £ North Island 256.449 258.654 South Island 177.248 177.398 Totals £433.697 f436,053 EXPENDITURE. 1017. 1916. £ £ North Island 116,615 112.G08 South Island 94,958 93.157 Totals £211,573 £205,855 The percentage of revenue expended is 61.33, compared with 66.23 for the same period last year.
