THE MILITARY CROSS.

AWARDED TO AUCKLANDER. Mr Moritzson, of this city, has been advised by the High Commissioner (Mr Thos Mackenzie), that his eon, Lieutenant L. Moritzson, has been awarded the Military Cross for bravery in action. Lieutenant Moritzson enlisted in Dunedin, and left Wellington with the Signal Corps, attached to the Main Expeditionary Force. He was wounded twice, once in the landing on GallipoJi, and again in the Somme offensive. Lieutenant Moritzson was educated in Auckland, and at the time of enlistment wae a clerk in the Dunedin branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. He is 23 years of age, and was promoted from the ranks.
