Golden Belt.—The stopes at the intermediate level are producing payable ore. In the north stopes, colours of gold can be seen in the stone. The ore crushed proved payable. Waiotahi. —Work is proceeding with the object of cutting any leaders striking ln from the Golden Crown section. Haurakl Beefs. —Duiring the week, some strong gold-bearing quartz was got from the stopes on the Golconda reef over No. 3 j level. In the No. 2 face, Wynyardton sec-! tion, gold is seen in the quartz, and a little picked stone was got ln the'stope off the 1 rise. A strong reef is showing in the Inter-1 mediate level. New Svlvia.—ln the rise from No. 4 level 1 the reef ls 2ft wide, and tbe ore of payable j value. At No. 3 level the'reef In the stope south of the winze, ls 4ft wide, and well mineralised. Occidental. —In the rise and stope over No. 6 level, the ore broken from No. 2 reef has shown great improvement, gold being freely eeen well distributed through it. A few pounds of fairly good picked stone have been selected. The total re- 1 turn from 47 loads of ore was approximately £325.
