THE CENSORSHIP OF FILMS.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l have no deeire to encroach greatly upon your space, as there hae already, been a great deal -written on the above eiibject, but I .certainly must enteT a protest against the moat suggestive posters that are displayed .-within eight of the Parnell Public School, at the foot of Alpha Road. I am well aware that little children do not see the evil in a 1 picture that an adult would -see, but boys and girls in the fifth and sixth standards most certainly do. There were two posters Tece.ntly placarded yep to which others besides myeelf took'etronjr exception. The first was a picture of two men fighting in a ibedroom in the presence of a very scantily-attired female. The second -wae a man holding' a woman in an extremely suggestive attitude and kissing her. By the exhibition of such trashy and suggestive posters I contend the persons responsible are certainly making a rod for their own backs. Should I • have any : more -complaints I shall, in the interests of the school children, bring the matter before the proper authorities. —I am, ett, HAROLD JOSEY/ • Chairman Parnell School Committee.
