LOS-DOS, October L General Sir Dongias Haig reports: "We progressed last night between Flers and Le Sars. We made 16 successful raids between Ypres and Xenve Chapelle. Eeavy shelling round Gueudecourt drove the Germans out of the ground they were holding near the "Stuff"' Redoubt, and increased our gains in the Schwaben Redoubt, north-east of Thiepval. a minute portion of which remains untaken. "We captured an army order dated September 21, emphasising the importance of LesboeufS; which was described as the last protection.' 3
