WELLINGTON", this day. •> Tlie Premier states that the Govern- j liient has bonjilit (100 acres of land eight wiles from Waerengn Flat, W'aikato. It is «wd dairying land, capable of being cut into sections of from tiO to SO acres. The Government has also purchased between 000 and (iOO acres near Washdyke. Timaru, which lie describes as some of the best land in South Canterbury. It can be subdivided into 50-acre sections, suitable for potato growing. The Govern- i ment is negotiating for a dozen places in various parts of Xew Zealand. Landowners, generally speaking, are meeting the Government reasonably regarding terms.
