HARBOUR BOARD.
The Anckland Harbour Board met in i committee yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs H. D. Heather (chairman), J. S. Bond, P. J. Nerheny, J. Wallace, E. W. Alison, M. H. Wynyard, and W. E. Hutchison, PROTECTED YACHT ANCHORAGES. The question affecting the control of the protected yacht anchorages was. deferred for a fortnight, as the Board's solicitors had not yet completed their draft of amendments to the by-law which they were submitting for approval. HARBOUR RECLAMATIONS. The return of reclaimed lands, which was before the Board at its last meeting, on the motion of Mr Bond, was considered by the committee. Mr Bond pointed out that of the 250 acres of reclamation, .about 100 acres were either leased by the Board or reserved for leasing purposes, while 150 acres had been taken by Railway Department or had been absorbed in streets and for the use of the city. He contended that the Board had treated the City Council very generously in all Its dealings with the city, and commented on the attitude of the Council In minor matters where the Board bad sought a little reciprocity. In reply to a question from Mr Alison, the engineer said that under the present system of bookkeeping the Board could tell where every cubic yard ot reclamation bad been cut.
