SESSION'S OPENING.

FIRST WEEK IN" MAY. CBf Telegraph.—Special to ''Star.') „ WELLINGTON, this day. I A forecast of the session's opening date was published in several newspapers last week, and has been noticed by some of the members of the National Cabinet with whom 1 have been in touch. They regard it as a somewhat unfortunate speculation, inasmuch as it would involve, if true, members of 'Parliament coming to Wellington to start business about Good Friday. Members may not be strict churchmen, but they have regard at least for a holiday, hence it may be regarded as quite certain that the opening date will be later. Cabinet itself is unable to specify a date positively, even behind its closed door, as the matter hinges on some communications expected almost any day from England. "My best tip," 6aid a prominent member of the Government to your correspondent to-day, "is the first week in May."
